Order for the Inhits
of Norfolk Street
to maintain a Watch
at their own Charge.}


Upon reading the humble Petition of the Inhabitants of
Norfolk Street in the Dutchy Liberty in the Strand in the
Parish of St. Clement Danes in this County exhibitted unto
this Court setting forth that some of their Houses had
lately been robbed and others were in Danger of being
robbed for want of a sufficient Watch the Petitioners there
fore praying that they might have Liberty to maintain
a Watch in the said Street for security of their respective
Houses distinct from the Constables Watch in the said
Liberty It is thought fit & ordered by this Court that the
said Inhabitants have Liberty to place a Watch in the
said Street at their Charge and that they be freed and
exempted from contributing to the charge of the said
Constables Watch untill further Order of this Court to
the Contrary
