The Informacon of Clandius Vosine< no role > of ye pish of St
Martin in ye feilds in ye County of Midd Jeweller
taken upon Oath before me this 21t day of Aprill
1690

This Informant Saith that about ye eighth or ninth of March last
one William Elphingston< no role > came to his Shop in Long acred &
CouldShowed him a thick table Dimond of about five or
Six graines &askedof about thirty pounds value as this
Informt veryly beleeves & asked him if he could follow it
& at ye Same time the SaidShowedWilliam Elphingston Showed
this Informt a rose Dimond of about two or three grames
& asked this Informt the value of the Said Dimonds And went
away at that time And about twelve dayes after the Said William
Elphingston
< no role > came againe to this Informt & brought Severall Vose
Dimonds in a paper being Six & thirty in number as he told
this Informt & tooke out Six of ye Said Dimonds desireing this Sd
Informt to make a ring of them wth a red Stone wth he brought
likewise wth. him for a ruby & desired it might be placed in
ye midle of the Said dimonds wth Said Stone was noe ruby but
a garnett And ye Said William Elphingston< no role > tould this
Informt that he lodged at ye Dolphin & Crown in Holborne
but he might be heard of at ye Mearmaid near ye Same
place And that he had a house & a Jorney mom at
Saffron Hill And this Informt further Saith that goeing
afterwards to ye Dolphin & Crowne to Enquire for ye Said
William Elphingston< no role > & met wth his wife who Said that
her Husband & Shee did not lodge together because he was
then goeing in to Ireland this Informt then asked her if
her Husband had not a house att Saffron Hill to wth she
replyed that the had noe House there
