"it appears to Your Committee that the said Richard<lb></lb>
"Berry has Constantly Ordered such Quantitys of Iron<lb></lb>
"and Ironmongery Goods to be brought into the Prison<lb></lb>
"as he though proper without Directions given to him<lb></lb>
"by the Prison Committee the County Surveyor or any<lb></lb>
"Person Authorized for that purpose that no Account of<lb></lb>
"the Weight of the Iron brought into the Prison has been<lb></lb>
"taken by him or any other Person at the Prison that<lb></lb>
"Bills of Parcells have not been regularly delivered with<lb></lb>
"the Goods or if delivered many are not to be found<lb></lb>
"that he has done a great Quantity of Work at the House<lb></lb>
"now building for the Governor without any Direction<lb></lb>
"or Authority whatever from the Prison Committee or<lb></lb>
"County Surveyor for that purpose and that he has made<lb></lb>
"out an Account for Smiths work done Chiefly at the<lb></lb>
"said House amounting to £316..0s..7d. with a view<lb></lb>
"of shewing the Savings and Profit to the County by the<lb></lb>
"Smiths work carried on in the Prison that in such<lb></lb>
"Account of Work done Items are Charged at a much<lb></lb>
"higher price than the Charges made by regular<lb></lb>
"Ironmongers that among many other overcharges<lb></lb>
"a Charge is made of Ten pence Per lb. for the Workman<lb></lb>
"ship of the Iron Rails round the Governors House<lb></lb>
"without any Deduction or Allowance for the Iron<lb></lb>
"provided by the County Lead Coals or Carriage,<lb></lb>
"Whereas it appears to Your Committee from the<lb></lb>
"Accounts given by professional Persons that the fair<lb></lb>
"Price for such Rails the Smith finding Iron Workman<lb></lb>
"ship Coals fixing up and Carriage would be about<lb></lb>
"6d. Pr.. lb. - that the Iron Railing lately put up at<lb></lb>
