<p n="2134">made of such Articles by the Governor as they are Received<lb></lb>
into the Prison (except the Bread and Butchers Meat under the<lb></lb>
New Regulation adopted by the Committee appointed for that<lb></lb>
purpose.) and that due care is not observed in the Ordering<lb></lb>
and receiving such Articles Your Committee therefore<lb></lb>
recommend that nothing in future should be Ordered for<lb></lb>
the use of the Prison or the Prisoners but by the Court or the<lb></lb>
Prison Committee before whom the Governor should produce<lb></lb>
a Schedule of such Articles as may be wanted but in Case<lb></lb>
of Emergency when the Governor should be at liberty to<lb></lb>
procure any temporary supply by an Order in Writing<lb></lb>
under his Hand that he should cause a Copy of any<lb></lb>
such Order to be entered in a Book to be provided for<lb></lb>
that purpose and produce the same to the Committee<lb></lb>
at their Meetings for their Inspection.</p>
<p n="2135">Your Committee are also of Opinion that the<lb></lb>
<rs type="occupation" id="LMSMGO55611_occ837">Governor</rs>
<interp inst="LMSMGO55611_occ837" type="occupation" value="Governor"></interp>
should be directed to Inspect every Article brought<lb></lb>
into this Prison and that he should cause an Account<lb></lb>
thereof to be entered in a Book on the Day in which the<lb></lb>
same shall be received.</p>
<p n="2136">And Your said Committee further Report.<lb></lb>
That it appearing that the Governor had employed a<lb></lb>
Stone Mason who had formerly been a Prisoner in this<lb></lb>
Prison to do some Masons Work in the <rs type="placeName" id="LMSMGO55611_geo1424">House of Correction</rs>

<interp inst="LMSMGO55611_geo1424" type="type" value="undefined"></interp>

and had not only agreed to allow him a Weekly Salary<lb></lb>
for the same but had put him upon the Prison Allowance<lb></lb>
in the same manner as other Turnkeys and Servants<lb></lb>
of the Prison Your Committee directed the said Stone<lb></lb>
Mason to be Discharged and are of Opinion that the<lb></lb>
<rs type="occupation" id="LMSMGO55611_occ838">Keepers of the Prison</rs>
<interp inst="LMSMGO55611_occ838" type="occupation" value="Keepers of the Prison"></interp>
belonging to this County ought not<lb></lb>
to be Allowed the Liberty of employing any other Person<lb></lb>
to do works for this County but such Workmen as have<lb></lb>
been regularly appointed by the Court and that no<lb></lb>
Works should be done at the said Prisons but such as<lb></lb>
shall be directed by the Magistrates in Session Assembled<lb></lb>
and Inspected and Surveyed by the County Surveyor.</p>
