September 1793.

Resolved that the said Office be declared vacant and that
the Election of a proper Person to fill the said Office do come on, on
the County day of the next Session by Ballot, and that the Ballot do
commence at Twelve o Clock at Noon and Close at Two o Clock in the
Afternoon precisely.

A Petition from Mr Francis Tapp< no role > late High Constable for
the City and Liberty of Westminster , and also A Petition from Mr
William Wright< no role > High Constable of the Tower Division, offering themselves
as Candidates for the Office of Governor of the said House of Correction
in the room of the said John Harwood< no role > , being laid before the Court.

Resolved that the Petitions of the several Person who
intend to offer themselves as Candidates be delivered in on or before
Wednesday the first day of the ensuring Session and that the
Candidates do personally attend on that day at Eleven o Clock at the
Guildhall Westminster and produce such Certificates and Testimonials
of their Character and fitness do they may think fit.

Resolved that the Watchman who suffered the Prisoners to
escape out of the New Hosue of Correction be immediately discharged.

Resolved that Mr. Samuel Newport< no role > the Keeper of Newprison
do take care of the said House of Correction till a Governor thereof
shall be appointed

By Adjournment same day.

Resolved that Thomas Aris< no role > be permitted to serve the
Prisoners in the New Prison and House of Correction at Clerkenwell
with Bread until the County day of the next Session.
