express object of the Publicans Recognizance, and the forfeiture thereof,
on the Adjudication at the Quarter Sessions according to the 26th.
Geo: 2d. Cap: 31. involving not only a disability to sell for Three
years but rendering void any Licence granted for such term: and
this disability now extending to the Sale of all Liquors, except only
in the case of the Parties being Vintners

Having submitted this proposition, I am directed to
add, that as the drawing of the Irish Lottery commences on the 12th.
Instant, The Commissioners earnestly request that the most speedy
measures may be taken to make such Resolution of Your Court, as
public as possible so as to give it full efficacy previous to the period
when the abuse which it is designed to prevent, can again be carried
into execution.

Resolved that the following Advertizement be
inserted in the Daily and three or four other Newspapers.
"To the Victuallers within the County of Middlesex .

Whereas it hath been represented to this Court by His
Majestys Commissioners of the Stamp Office , that a practice has for
some time prevailed among several of the Victuallers residing in this
County particularly in and about the Metropolis, to permit the Keepers
and Agents of various Lottery Offices (Licenced as well as Unlicensed)
and also other Persons not immediately connected with any particular
Offices to resort to their respective Houses, during the drawing of the
State Lotteries< no role > for the purpose of dealing in Chances and of inducing
the various Companies at those Places to engage in the illegal
Insurance of Lottery Tickets and Chances respecting Lotteries and that
they openly attend with Books for entering such Insurances and
