That the present Spot of Ground belonging to Hicks Hall
is
many respects inconvenient and not sufficiently large for the
purpose of building a Session house for the said County
4thly
That a committee be appointed to Search and Enquire for
such a Spot of Ground as shall Appear to be Convenient &
proper for building a Session house
It was also Moved that a Committee be appear
to examine into the State and Condition of Hicks Hall
and
to enquire into the nature of the Expense and what Sum m [..]
be neccessary to repair it sufficiently for the purpose of Holding
their Sessions there as usual till another Session house shall be
built and that the Committee have power to employ so many [..]
persons professionally Skilled in the knowledge of building
(not exceeding three) as they may Judge necessary and
Qualified to give them the fullest and truest Information up [..]
this Subject to the intent that doubts may arise as to the
Practability of the measure both with respect to price and
Stability of the Work to make the building perfectly Secure
and the same being put upon holding up of hands there
appeared for the question 28 against it 42 whereupon it was
declared to be carried in the Negative
