By Adjournment Thursday 26 April 1781

The proceedings of the Court on Monday last in respect to
the Vacancy of the Offices of Cryer of the Court of Session of the
peace for this County and Housekeeper at Hicks Hall taken into Conbon Resolve [..]
that the said offices are now Vacant

Ordered in Conformity to the standing Order
respecting Elections to offices of Profit under the nomination and
Appointment of the Justices of the peace for this County that the
Election of a proper person to be Cryer of the Court of Sessions
of the peace for this County and House keeper at Hicks Hall
be on the County day of the next Session of the peace to be
holden in and for this County that the sd Election be by
Ballot to begin at the hour of One in the same day and to
Close at 3

The Chairman laid before the Court a
Letter which he had received from His Grace the Duke of
Northumberland Custos Rotulorum of this County and
the same being read Ordered that the said Letter be
entered among the proceedings of this Session

"Gentlemen

As the office of Housekeeper at Hicks Hall &
Cryer of the General and Quarter Session of the peace for the
County of Middlesex are become Vacant by the much
lamented death of your late and worthy officer Mr White
and has you have had the goodness to shew a great regard
to my former applications to you I persuade myself you
will on this Occasion allow me to recommend to your
favour Mr Edward Hall< no role > who has for many years been
well known to me and whose behaviour while in an
office of considerable Trust under you has I hope secured
him the approbation and good will of the Magistrates
in general and in Case he should be so fortunate
as to Succeed in his present application it will
occassion
