1754 .

It is Ordered by this Court that it be and it is hereby
recommended and referred unto his Majestys Justices of the
peace of this County herein after named (to wit) Thomas Lane< no role >
George Errington< no role > Merry Teshmaker< no role > John Dekewer< no role > Boulton
Mainwaring
< no role > George Greene< no role > Thomas Jervis< no role > George Garrett< no role >
William Withers< no role > Richard Chamberlayne< no role > Francis Bedwell< no role >
Richard Ricards< no role > Walter Berry< no role > Bartholomew Hammond< no role >
Benjamin Cox< no role > Esquires and such other Justices of the peace of
this County as will please to be present on any three or more
of them as a Committee to meet together at Hicks hall in Saint
John Street on Thursday the ninth day of May next at ten
of the Clock in the forenoon to view the back apartment
near the Kitchin at Hicks hall in Order to find out a Way
for People that may want to prefer Indictments at the [..]
Sessions of the peace for this County to get to the grand Jury
Room without crouding the Passage between the Court and
the Kitchen at Hicks hall and to cause an Estimate to be
made of the Expences thereof And the said Committee are
desired on any day they shall they shall think fit to visit
New Prison at Clerkenwell and [..] examine the State and
Condition thereof and if any and what repairs are wanting
and if the said Prison can be altered or enlarged so as to
make the same more wholesome And if a Ventilator or any
other Machine is wanted for that purpose And if any small
Matters are wanting to Order the same to be immediately
done by the Workmen belonging to this County And the said
Committee are desired to direct that the Fees that are to be
taken by the Keeper of the said Prison and the Order made
against selling Geneva and other Spiritous Liquors in the
said Prison be fairly painted in Roman Characters upon a
Board and placed up in the most publick place of the said
Prison And to make their Report [..] touching the
Matters aforesaid to the Court on the County day of the next
General Sessions of the peace to be holden for this County
