of there fourths
of Moneys claymed to be
due to Peace Officers for
passing & relieving
Vagabonds.}
Whereas by an Order made by this Court on this eighteenth day
day of January instant It is recommended (amongst other
things) to a Committee of
his Majesty< no role >
's Justices of the Peace
of this
County therein mentioned to meet together Hicks hall on
Friday the Ninth Day of February next at ten of the Clock
in the forenoon to inspect the Certificates of Allowances given
by any of
his Majesty< no role >
's Justices of the Peace
to any Peace Officers
of this County for the passing & relieving Vagabonds and to See if
the Sums therein Specifyed are just and reasonable and according
to the Rates & Prices formerly Settled, and what Sum or Sums of
Money in their opinion ought or are proper to be allowed to
them for Such Service, And to make their Report touching the
the Said Matter on the County day of the next General Sessions
of the Peace for this County, This Court considering that the Said
Peace Officers or Some of them may in the mean time have
Occasion for Money for Supply of their Occasions, Doth Order
that Mr.
John Higgs< no role >
Treasurer
of this County do pay three
fourths of the Moneys claymed to be due to the Said Peace
Officers respectively for the Service aforesaid unto Such of
them as Shall in the mean time apply to him for Such payment
whose respective Receipts together with this Order Shall
be Sufficient discharges to the Said Treasurer
for Such
respective payments.

of this County do pay the Sum of two Pounds and eighteen
Shillings unto Mr.
Thomas Northcote< no role >
House keeper of
Hicks hall
for one years allowance for fireing Etc by him
provided in the Great Room there at the Several Meetings
of the Justices of the Peace
there concerning the distempered
Cattle from January 1748 to the 13th. of January 1749 being
twenty nine Separate Meetings at two Shillings a time
And that the Receipt of the Said
Mr. Northcote< no role >
together with this
Order Shall be a Sufficient discharge to the Said Treasurer
for Such payment.
