Person except Dealer Shall be permitted to keep more than
one pound of Powder in Such Houses on Such Penaltys' as
Shall be Judged meet

That proper [..] Encouragement be given
Informers that the Powders Seized by virtue of this Act Shall
immediately be Sold for the use of those that Shall be
appointed to have the Benefitts of it and it is believed one
hundred pounds is more than Sufficient for Dealers
themselves.

By Adjornmt. on Thursday the 25th. day of February on1741 .

Order agt. Persons in the
Tower Division Keeping
greater quantitys of
Gun powder in their
houses Etc than by Law
they ought to do}

Complaint being made unto this Court that divers persons in
the Tower Division and more especially in those parishes or places
near the River of Thames in the County of Middx do keep much
greater quantitys of Gunpowder in their houses warehouses
or Store houses than by Law they ought to do, which in case of any
accident or accidents by Fire might very much endanger the
lives and blow up the houses of a great many of his Majesty< no role > 's
Subjects, and do much damage to the Tower of [..] London,
And the Grand Jury having at this present Sessions made a
Presentment Specifying the great Dangers of Gun powder, and
touching Some method or methods to be used in order to
prevent the Same, It is Ordered by this Court that it be And It is
hereby recommended and referred unto his Maties Justices of
the peace for the Said County of Middx residing or acting in the
Tower Division or any three or more of them to assemble and
meet together at Such times & places as they Shall think fit to
appoint, and to call to their assistance the high Constable and
Petty Constables and Headboroughs within the Said Division or
So many of them as they may think Sufficient, and use what lawfull
ways & means, they are able to find out & discover where
