This Court being informed that divers Sumes of money assessed
for the relief of maimed Soldiers and Marriners within the
Hundreds of Elthorne Spelthorne and Istleworth in this
County are now in arrear and unpaid by several former
Treasurers (vizt.) John Crookshank< no role > Esqr Treasurer for the year
one thousand seven hundred and seventeen, John Wilson< no role > Esqr
Treasurer for the year one thousand seven hundred and
eighteen, John Gunley< no role > Esqr Treasurer for the year one
thousand seven hundred and nineteen, and William Lloyd< no role > Esqr
Treasurer for the year one thousand seven hundred and twenty.
of the moneys assessed for relief of maimed soldiers and
Mariners within the said hundreds and that it is requisite that
the said arrears should be answered and paid by the said former
Treasurers (their disbursements thereout to maimed Soldiers and
Mariners being first deducted) unto James Clitherow< no role > Esqr the
present Treasurer for maimed soldiers and Mariners within
the said hundreds. It is Ordered by this Court that the said
former Treasurers doe respectively pay unto the said James
Clitherow the present Treasurer all such arrears of moneys
assessed in the said respective years for relief of maimed
Soldiers and Mariners within the hundreds as (upon
stateing the accounts of the said former Treasurers) shall
appear to be in their respective hands or ought to be
answered and paid by them respectively, and it is further
Ordered by this Court that all such high Constables within
the said Hundreds who ought to have paid any moneys on
account of maimed soldiers and Mariners unto Gwyn Vaughan< no role >
Esqr Treasurer for maimed soldiers and Mariners within the
said Hundreds for the year one thousand seven hundred and
twenty one and made default in such payment Doe forthwith
pay the same unto the said James Clitherow< no role > , as they will
answer the contrary at their peril.
