his said house for his own Lucre and Gain certain evil and ill disposed persons as well men as Women of evil Name<lb></lb>
and Same and of dishonest Conversation to frequent and come together then and the said other days and times there<lb></lb>
unlawfully and wilfully did cause and procure And the said Men and Women in his said house at unlawfull times<lb></lb>
as well in the night as in the day then and the said other days and times there to be and remain drinking tipling<lb></lb>
whoring and misbehaving themselves unlawfully and wilfully did permit and yet doth permit to the great<lb></lb>
damage and common Nusance of all the Subjects of Our said Lord the King and against the peace of our<lb></lb>
said Lord the King his Crown and Dignity Etc.</p>

The Deft keeps a Common Bandy house (as described in the Indictment) upon <rs type="placeName" id="LMSLPS15053_geo405">Ludgate hill</rs>

of the Bunch of Grapes with his Name upon it where all Sorts of Strong Liquors are Sold for the Entertainment of<lb></lb>
Loose persons of both Sexes at all times both Night and day to the great Nusance and disturbance of the<lb></lb>
Neighbourhood who are most of them creditable and substantial Tradesmen</p>
<p n="338">The Deft having for this Offence been returned by the Wardmote Inquest was ordered to be prosecuted<lb></lb>
at the City's Expence You will observe he is Stiled Staymaker in the Indictment It Seems ye <rs type="occupation" id="LMSLPS15053_occ200">Gentleman</rs>

in same measure for the great Number of Females resorting to his house gives out that he follows the Business of<lb></lb>

<p n="339">Proofs</p>
<p n="340">That frequently in the Night time Men and Women go in and out of Defts<lb></lb>
house that the Women are Common Street Walkers and frequently pick up Men in<lb></lb>
ye Streets and carry then into Defts house That Generally Men ring the Bell or<lb></lb>
knock at the Door with their Sticks or Canes at 1.2 & 3 o' Clock in the Morning &<lb></lb>
are let in & Deponents have carried Some of the Women who lodge in or frequent<lb></lb>
Defts house to the Watchhouse for Comon Street Walkers & Say Defts house<lb></lb>
is a Notorious disorderly house and that Deft pretends he is a <rs type="occupation" id="LMSLPS15053_occ201">Staymaker</rs>
