wished to speak to him, upon which the said Gordon Immediatly
rushed into Piccadilly throng another Door and Made off that
this Inft, and the Constable persued him into St. James Street
and there secured him

The Information of Francis Beckett< no role > who saith
that on the 24th Day of December Instant about Eight o Clock in the
Evening Mr Dyde called to this Inft and gave him a NoteBillto
take to Mr Dyde for Change that this Inft. Shewed it to Mr. Dyde
who said he was afraid it was a Bad one and sent this Inft
to Messr Drummonds to Enquire, that he there saw Mr Smith
and Shewed him the notebellthat Mr Smith upon seeing the said
noteBillsaid Mr Dyde would do an Act of Justice if he would
takeforthe person who presented it into Custody as it [..] did
not belong to their House That this Inft. then went back and
told Mr Dyde the NoteBillwas a bad one that Mr Dyde then sent
this Inft. for a Constable Immediately.
