Taken
before me this 5th. day of January 1787

Who being on Oath say and first the said John Kitchener< no role >
saith that last Night between
twelve and one o'Clock as he was going by the House of
Robert Tables at Holsden
aforesaid he heard a Noise
That he stopped and listened and thought he heard
something fall from the [..] Side of the House
That he then called Thomas Sexton< no role >
and James Adams< no role >
now present That they went to the back of said House
and on looking over the Pales, saw three Men
walking backwards and forwards and soon afterwards
heard a Noise like Chopping That soon afterward
said three Men came out of the Garden two of them
having Lead on their Shoulders and the other as
Bag of Hay That they seized said two Men with the
Lead who are the two Prisoners now present and
the Man who had the Hayes caped That James

now present attempted to strike this
Informant with the Stick now Produced when
he knocked him down with his Blunderbuss
at which time [..]

otherwise Burbidge now present made his Escape and when
he had got some distance this Informant fired at
him and wounded him in the High That after
securing said Smith they Pursued and apprehended
said BusbyThat the Lead now produced is the
same Lead so stolen by the said Smith and Busby
and which had been stolen from the House of the
said Robert Tubbs< no role >
And the said Thomas Sexton< no role >
for himself saith that about one o'Clock this Morning
said Kitchener called him and told him that
there were some persons stealing the Lead from
Mr. Tubbs House and requested him to go with him
and apprehended them that he then called James
