Who being upon Oath severally say & first Joseph Bowden< no role >
for Himself says that He lives at Ranelagh
that one Monday night
last returning, Home from Town about Half past Twelve o'Clock the
was Stoped by Five Men in the Road near Chelsea Water Works
who
demanded his Money threatning to throw Him in the Ditch if the
refused that they Gifted his Pockets & out of His Coat Pocket took One
Guinea a Clasp Pen Knife & two pair of Gloves likewise some waste
Paper amongst which was a Ten Pounds Bank Note which they
(not perceiving) returned saying they did not want waster paper
that they took His Buckles out of His Shoes & one of His Knee Buckles
& with a Knife cut His Stock Buckle from off His Neck that upon
seeing the Knife He was terribly frightned & desired them not to cut
his Throat that one of them field something over this Insts Steal & threatned to knock being down if he made a noise they than left Him & went toward Town that the called
the Watchman & informd Him what had happened that they Pursued
them that the next Watchman joined them & enquiring of the
[..] at Buckingham Gate
they were informed Five Men
were just & one by toward Westminster
that they Pursued & in the
Broadway this Informant saw the said Men & desired the Watch-
man to Rattle that Four of them were immediately taken & one
escaped that the Four Men than taken & now present who call
themselves James Wiggan< no role >

are Four of the Five Men who Stop'd & Robb'd this Informant
as above mentioned that the Two Right Hand Gloves found on James
Wiggan< no role >
& the Two Left Hand Gloves found by Sutherland the Watch-
man & the part of the Stock & the Buckle & Knife found on James
Russell< no role >
are the Property of this Informant & all taken from him
when Robb'd
And Mrs. Bowden for Herself says that the Part of the
Stock & the Buckle found on James Russel< no role >
are the property of
Her Husband Joseph Bowden< no role >
that She worked the Button Holes
of the said Part of the Stock & that said Monday Morning but the
Buckle into the Part of the Stock now produced found on the said
James Russel< no role >
& Buckled it on Her Husbands Neck.
