1st. day of January 1784

Who being on Oath says that she knows Thomas Welch< no role > and
Thomas Cary< no role > now present. That the Metal Watch which this
Informant pawned at Mr. Matthews's Pawn broker in Old
Grovel Lane, on the 29th.. of November 1783. for one Guinea,
was delivered to her by the said Thomas Welch< no role > in the Street
at Whitchaple (no other person being present) who desired this
Informant to pawn it for him and bring him a Guinea, which
She didSays that the three Bed Gowns and one Napkin which were pawned
at the same place by this Informant for Seven Shillings, she
Received from the said Thomas Carey< no role > at the door of her Lodging
Room the said Welch being then in her Room and Sitting by her
fire side. That the Metal Watch which this Informant
pawned with a Pawnbroker in theMinories for One Guinea,
She received from the said Thomas Carey< no role > , the Day on which she
pawned it in her own Room: and that after Carey had given her
the Watch to pawn the said Thomas Welch< no role > came into her Room also
That after She had pawned said Watch she gave the Guinea to Carey.
Says that one pair of Silk Stockings which were pawned by
this Informant at Mr. Brodie's in Whitechaple , were given to
her by the said Thomas Carey< no role > in her own Room the said Welch Seeing
present That she pawned said Stockings for three Shillings,
& which Money she delivered to said Carey. Says that the
five pair of Shift Sleeves and two Caps, which were pawned
by this Informant at Mr. Lindseys in old Gravel Lane for Eighteen pence
were given to her by the said Thomas Carey< no role > in her own Room said Welch
being present sitting by her fire. And this Informant further says
