me Charles Sheppard< no role > Esqr . one of His
Majesty's Justices of the Peace in and
forth said County of Middlesex this
27th. Day of November 1783.

This Informant upon his Oath saith
that on Monday night between the hours
of eight and Nine being the 24th. day
of this Instant November he was Assaulted
upon the Things Highway in Granys Inn
Lane in the Parish of St. Andrew
Holborn above the Bars in the said
County by a Woman who calls herself
by the Name of Mary Humphreys< no role >
and was dragged into Charlotte Buildings
by the said Many Humphreys< no role > who
feloniously to Informant his Person one
Guinea in Gold one half Crown piece and an half penny the Property of the said
William Jones< no role > upon the said William
Jones< no role > Following her the said Mary
Humphreys< no role > an his being so Robbed and
the said Many Humphreys said to this
said Informant that she wan'd knock
him down if he followed her
