Ireland, King, Defender of the Faith, and so forth, before Thomas Phillips< no role >
one of the Coroners of our said Lord the King for the said County, on View of the Body of
Andrew Ryne< no role > then and there lying dead, upon the Oath of

good and lawful Men of the said County, duly chosen, and who being then and there duly
sworn and charged to inquire, for our said Lord the King, when, how, and by what Means, the
said Andrew Ryne< no role > came to his Death
Death, Do, upon their Oath, say, That on the Twenty third day of April in the Year aforesaid
in the Parish aforesaid in the County aforesaid the said Andrew Ryne< no role > being in a Certain
common drinking Room belonging to a Publick House there Situate known by the Name
or sign of the Ship in which said Common Drinking Room, one Peter Murphy< no role > of the Parish aforesaid
in the County aforesaid Labourer and also Divers other persons was and were then and there Present
and that the said Andrew Ryne< no role > without any Cause or Provocation whatsoever given by the said Peter
Murphy upon him the said Peter Murphy< no role > in the Peace of God and of our said Lord the King then and there being
Violently did make an Assault and him the said Peter Murphy< no role > without any Cause or Provocation whatsoever did
then and there Beat, Abuse and wily Treat whereupon the said Peter Murphy< no role > for the Preservation and Safety of his
Person did then and there with the hands of him the said Peter Murphy< no role > Defend himself against such the Violent Assault
of him the said Andrew Ryne< no role > as it was lawful for him [..] to do, And the said Andrew Ryne< no role > did then and there Receive against
the Will of him the said Peter Murphy< no role > by the falls and Blows which the said Andrew Ryne< no role > then and there Sustained by
his the said Peter Murphys< no role > so Defending himself as aforesaid divers Mortal Bruises in and upon the Head of him
the said Andrew Ryne< no role > of which said Mortal Bruises he the said Andrew Ryne< no role > from the said Twenty third day
of April in the Year aforesaid until the Twenty Seventh day of the same Month in the same Year at the Parish
aforesaid in the County aforesaid did Languish and Languishing did Live on which said Twenty Seventh day
of April in the Year aforesaid to the said Andrew Ryne< no role > at the Parish and in the County aforesaid of the Mortal Bruises aforesaid
did Dye, And so the Jurors aforesaid upon their Oath aforesaid do say, that the said Peter Murphy< no role > him the said Andrew
Ryne in the Defence of himself him the said Andrew Ryne< no role > in manner and by the means aforesaid did kill and Slay

IN WITNESS whereof, as well the said Coroner as the said James Titley< no role >
the Foreman of the said Jurors, on the Behalf of himself and the Rest of his said Fellows, in
their Presence, have, to this Inquisition, set their Hands and Seals, the Day and Year first
above written.
