An Inquisition indented taken for our Sovereign Lord the KING at the Sign of the White Hart in the Parish of Saint
Luke Chelsea in the County Middlesex , the Ninth Day of May in the 25 Year of the
Reign of our Sovereign Lord GEORGE the third , by the Grace of God of Great Britain France and Ireland, KING Defender of
the Faith, Etc. before Edward Umfreville< no role > Esquire one of the Coroners of our said Lord
the KING, for the said County, on veiw of the body John Skeet
then and there lying dead upon the Oath of James Smith< no role > David
Eggleton, John Osborn< no role > , Joseph Walker< no role > Alexander Hutchinson< no role > , John Griggory< no role > Richard Pickring< no role > Charles Saker< no role >
Ellis Chittock< no role > Samuel Brocas, John Nott< no role > , Thomas Mullord< no role > , Thomas Munford< no role > , James Munday< no role > John Gumpson< no role >
and Humphrey Sowder< no role >
good and lawful Men of the said County duly chosen as by law required and who being, then and there duly sworn
and charged, to enquire for our said Lord the KING, when, how, and by what means the said John Skeet< no role >
came to h is Death, Do upon their Oath say, That the said John Skeet< no role >
on the Twenty Eighth day of April in the Year aforesaid at the Parish and County aforesaid Accidentally
Casually and by Misfortune fell into a Certain River Called the River Thames there Situate And in the
Waters thereof was then and there Suffocated & Drowned of which sd Suffocation and Drowning he the said John Skeet< no role >
did then and there Instantly die And so the Jurors aforesaid upon their Oath aforesaid do say that the said
John Skeet< no role > in Manner and by the Means aforesaid Accidentally Casually and by Misfortune Came to his
Death and not otherwise

In Witness whereof as well the said Coroner, as the said, James Smith< no role > the Foreman of
the said Jurors on behalf of himself and the rest of his Fellows, in their presence, have to this Inquisition set their
Hands and Seals the Day and Year first abovementioned
