Instant and confirmed the same
except the Minute whereby it was Resolved
"That it appeared to the said Committee that
"the most advantageous Mode of making
"the said Improvement would be to take
"down Mr. Goughs Premises the Watch House
"and Engine House and to round off the
"Corner so as to throw twelve feet or
"thereabouts into the Public Highway and
"to rebuild the Watch House and Engine house
"in the Center of the Sweep and continue the
"dwarf Wall and iron Railing on each
"side correspondent with that which at
"present encloses the Church Yard" which
upon a Motion being made by Mr. Osborn
and seconded by Mr. Carter was on the
Question being put Ordered to be rescinded
and in lien thereof
It was Resolved that the Committee having further
considered of the said Resolution are of Opinion
that it will be more advisable to round off the
Corner of Hounsditch
by taking down such part
only of Mr. Goughs Premises and of the Watch House
as will throw thirteen feet eight Inches into the
Publick Highway agreeable to a Plan now produced
by the Churchwarden
It appearing from the Minutes of a Meeting of the
Inhabitants summoned and held in the Vestry
Room the 27th. day of May 1710
that previous to
the Premises in the occupation of Mr. Gough being
built a Faculty was obtained by the Parish for
that purpose Resolved that the Faculty be
sought for in the Parish Chest and laid before
the Committee at their next Meeting
Resolved that Mr. Samuel Osborn< no role >
be added to
the Sub Committee appointed at the last Meeting
to make application to the different Persons
