Churchwardens of the Premises (amongst others) at
the Corner of Hounsditch now in the occupation of Mr.
William Gough< no role > and several subsequent Deeds
respecting the same whereby it appears that the Parish
have the remainder of a Term of five hundred years
in the said Premises under the said Lease from the
Commencement thereof which was from Christmas
one thousand seven hundred and six and that they
pay for the said Premises a clear Annual Rent of
Fifty pounds and to the Trustees of Sir John Cass< no role > 's
Charity School in respect thereof for a Salary to the
Master and Mistress of the said School an Annual
Sum of Twenty pounds and that the Parish receive
of said Mr. Gough for the Shops under the Rooms
where the Charity School was formerly held and
which are part of the said Premises the clear Yearly
Rent of Thirty six pounds under a Lease thereof granted
to Mr. Jonathan Moore< no role > for twenty eight Years from
Midsummer one thousand seven hundred and
eighty one since assigned to the said William
Gough the present occupier of the said Premises
It also appears from Information given to this
Committee that the Trustees of Sir John Cass< no role > 's
Charity receive from the said Mr Gough for the
said Rooms formerly used as the Charity Schools
a clear Annual Rent of Ten pounds but for what
Term of Years they have let the same to him the
Committee are not at present informed

Resolved that it appears to this Committee that
the best Method of making the said Improvment
will be to take down the whole of Mr. Goughs
Premises at the Corner of Hounsditch and the Watch
House and Engine House and to cound off the
Corner so as to throw twelve feet or thereabouts
into the Public Highway and to rebuild the
