Subject to the parish Lease, to know upon what Terms a fresh
Lease might be taken in Case the Parish are of Opinion to
renew the same, And that said Buswell and Biggs had
offered to let the same premises to the Parish on Lease
for 21 Years at £36 P Ann clear of all Taxes and the Parish
to repair the same at their own Charge and on no other Terms
which this Vestry do not conceive it will be for the benefit of
this Parish to Agree to And then it being reported by Mr.Cleaver
that there is a large spot of Ground and premises belonging to the
Parish, Leased by the Parish to Mr. Lopez of which a Considerable
Number of Years are to come, And that if Mr.Lopez would
Surrender his said Lease to the Parish on reasonable Terms
it might be worth the Parish's while to Agree with him
for the same, which said Ground and Premises are situate in
Gravel Lane
Houndsditch
and he apprehends would be very
convenient with some Alterations for a Workhouse
It is Referred to Mr. Cleaver to view the said premises and
Report the same to a future Vestry.
The Vestry also referred the Affair relative to the Parish's
One fourth part Interest in the Houses in the Minories
Agreed to
be Leased to Mr. Harding, to the Churchwardens, & Mr. Cleaver
Mr. Smith, Mr. Rogers Mr. Silverside and Mr. Barlow as a Commee
to view the Premises, State a Case and take an Opinion of Council
thereon And Report the same to a future Vestry
At this Vestry the following Gentlemen were appointed
a Committee to meet the Committee of Saint Catherine Cree Church
in
Order to settle the difference relative to the Bounds of the Parish
where Aldgate stood (Vizt.) The Churchwardens, Common
Council-Men & Mr. Cleaver and Mr. Silverside
