Att a Generall Vestry held for the Parish of St. Botolph
without Aldgate in the Vestry Roome the Fourth day of January
Anns Done1721

The Reverend Doctor Bray and the Church Wardens acquainted the
Vestry that a Letter had been sent to them from Callcutta in Bengall
in East India from Mr. John Eyre< no role > and Mr John Stackhouse< no role > acquainting
them that Mr Isaac Berkley< no role > of the same Place Merchant by his
Will had left to this Parish Church 3000 Rupees amounting to the
Sume of Three Hundred and Seventy Five pounds Sterling and that they
were willing to transmit the same to such Persons as the Minister and
Churchwardens should give Orders

It is Ordered by his Vestry That Mr. Alderman Parsons Dr. Bray
and the Churchwardens have full Power to authorize and appoint
some Proper Person as soon as conveniently may be for the Recewing
the said Legacy of 3000 Rupees Or otherwise to sell and dispose of the same
for the most benefit and advantage they can And what the Alderman
Doctor and Churchwardens shall do touching the Premisses This Vestry
shall and will at the next Generall Vestry Ralife and Confirme and also
from time to time Indempnifie the Alderman Dor. and Churchwardens from
and against All Covenants they shall Enter into on any Assignemt. of the said
Legacy to such Person or Persons as shall Purchase the same.
