Elizabeth Herbert< no role > Single woman maketh oath That
She hath two Children to Wit Henry aged six years
and upwards and Mary aged two years and upwards
both of which Children are illegitimate and were born
in Darby Street in the Parish of Saint Botolph witht.
Aldgate in the said County of Middlesex The first of
which Children was baptized in the Collegiate Church
of Saint Catherine near the Tower of London and registred
there by the name of Henry Fox< no role > and the other of them
was baptized in the Parish Church belonging to the said
Parish of Aldgate and registred there by the name of
Mary Fox< no role > And this Depont. Saith that divers years ago
she was hired and lived as hired servant by the year at
the yearly Wages of Three Pounds with one Robert
James
< no role > a Taylor in the Liberty of Saffron Hill Hatton
Garden and Ely Rents in the Parish of Saint Andrew
Holborn in the said County and Continued in such
Service for three Years and by means thereof gained
a legal settlement there And this Depont. Saith that she
has not since lived as a hired servant for a year nor done
any Act to her knowledge or belief to gain a Subseqt.
Settlement and that one Henry Fox< no role > deced to whom this Dept.
was never married did get her with Child of ye sd two Bastard Child.
