Elizabeth Mc. Motary< no role > the wife of Thomas
Mc. Motary
< no role > maketh oath that her sd. husband is
a soldier and now abroad in his Majesties service
as this Depont. believes And this Depont. saith yt.
her said husband is a Scotsman and never gained
any settlement in England to her knowledge or belief
But he hath informed her that he was born in ye
highlands of Scotland but ye Particular Place
or Parish she cannot set forth And this Depont.
farther saith that she was born in the Parish
of Maidstone in the County of Kent And that she
was never an Apprentice nor a hired servant by
the year nor hath done any Act in her own right
to gain a legal settlement either before or since
her Marriage And this Deponent saith that she
hath three Children to wit James< no role > aged about
eleven years William< no role > aged about Nine years
and Ann< no role > Aged about four years the lawful Issue
of this Depont. by her said husband
