John Burkitt< no role > This name instance is in set 941. maketh oath that about
Twenty Seven Years ago he was bound apprentice by
Indre of apprenticeship to Joseph Joyce< no role > a Goldsmith of
Hoop Alley in Old Street then in the Parish of St. Giles
Cripplegate in the County of Middx but now called
the Parish of St. Luke in the County of Middx where he
lived with his Master five Years and half and then by
sd. Master removed into Boswell Court in the Parish
of St. Clement Danes in the Liberty of the City of
Westminster in the sd. County of Middx where he served
his sd. Master a Year & half being the residue of his
sd. apprenticeship and by means thereof gained a legal
Settlemt. there And this Dept. Saith that he was
Never a hired Servant by the Year nor rented
a house of Ten pounds a Year & upwards nor Served
any parochial office Nor gained any other Settlemt.
then in right of his sd. apprenticeship as aforesd. to
his knowledge or belief
