Elijah Bassett< no role > maketh Oath that his
Late Father Richd. Bassett< no role > about Thirty Fives
Years ago Rented a House of Twenty Pounds as
Year or thereabouts near the Hermitage Bridge
in the Parish of St. Botolph without Aldgate in
the County of Middlesex and lived in the same
about Six Years & was charged to and paid
the Poors Rate for the same that he quitted
the said House sometime in the Year 1767
and did not afterwards Rent any House or
Lodging of the Yearly Rent or Value of Ten
Pounds or Pay any Poors Rate or Kings Tax
or do any Act to his Knowledge or belief
to gain a Subsequent Settlement, that he
this Deponent was Born in the said House &
Baptized at Aldgate Church that he has
never been an Apprentice or lived as a
hired Servant by the Years with any Poors
in any Parish or Place for the Space of One
Year together or Rented any House or Lodging
of the Yearly Real or Value of Ten Pounds or
Done any Act to his Knowledge or Belief to
gain as Settlement in his own right that
he has a Child named Elijah< no role > aged about Five
Years the Lawful issue by his late Wife Ann< no role >
decd. to whom he was Lawfully Married at Aldgate
Church about Fifteen Years ago & that the Said
Child is with this Deponents Brother in St. Caths. Lane
