Mary Baylot< no role > Wife of John Baylot< no role > Taylor
Maketh Oath and Saith that on the elventh day of May
1786 she this Examinant was lawfully Married to her
present Husband John Baylot< no role > at the Parish Church
of Saint Luke Old Street in the said County and that
there is Issue of the said Marriage One Female Child
named Mary< no role > aged 20 Months, That previous to her
Intermarriage with her said Present Husband (& in
the latter end of the Year 1783, or beginning of the
Year 1784) she this Examinant was hired by Thomas
Matts
< no role > of Nightingale Lane in the Parish of Saint
Botolph without Aldgate in the sd. County as his
Yearly Servant at the Annual Wages of five
Pounds and continued to live with him under that
hiring for the space of fourteen Months And this
Examinant Saith that she hath not since her
quitting the Service of the said Thomas Matts< no role > or
before her said Intermarriage with the said John
Baylott
< no role > lived a Year with any Person or Persons
whomsoever or done any Act whereby to gain a
Settlement in any other parish precinct or place
whatsoever And lastly this Examinant further
Saith that her said Husband John Baylot< no role > is a
Native of the West Indies , where he served his
Apprenticeship, That he did not at any time
during his residence in England , or since his
Intermarriage with this Examinant, live as a
Yearly hired Servant, Rent any House or Lodging
of the Yearly Rent or Value of £10 or upwards, served
any Parish Office, or do any other Act whereby to gain
a Settlement in any Parish Precinct or Place in
Great Britain.
