The above with all the Crossings defaceings and
Alterations of figures is the exact Account of
Mr. Francis Whitehurst< no role > as hee gave it in to
the Towne, upon the receipt of which they contrary
to theire expectations finding themselves by that
Account considerably in debt Call'd for his Originall
or day Booke in which to theire great dissatifaction
they found hee had charged above a Hundred perticular
Sumes and days of Payments to Severall Persons to
Some of them neare 30 times of Payment adding to
each the day of ye: Month and yet had himselfe croft
them all out; as haveing not indeed paid them any of
it; By which ye: Towne rationally inferd; it was his design
to wrong them; they therefore excepted against his Account
for: Sundry other Considerable Reasons and by direction
and Order of Justice Bohun and Justice Webber ye: Said
Whitehurst chose four Townsmen and ye: liberty order
four theire respective Names are below who faithfully
perused ye: Account and unanimously resolved to make Such
Abatements in ye: Same that hee was thereby Debtor to ye: [..]
above One hundred Pounds but in Pure tenderness to his
Family they admitted him to a discharge for: ye: payment
of Twenty which Said Sume hee gave bond for: & in due to
Paid it to to a Succeeding Churchwarden
