For Felony and Robery [..] the
Highway

Thomas Taverner< no role > and Mary Brooke< no role > above named
each Speaking for himself and herself make Oath and Say
And first this Deponent Thomas Taverner< no role > for himself Saith
That John Uncle< no role > who drove the Coach of the Time of the above
Robery is a Material Witness for the King in this prosecution
and without whose Testimony it will not be Safe to proceedto
to Tryall And further saith That the said John Uncle an driving
this Deponents Coach to Oxford on Wednesday the Thirteenth
Instant was taken very Ill on the Road thither on soon after
he Arrived there as this Deponent hath been Credibly Informed
and believe and by Reason thereof has not been able to
Came to London since as this Deponent also believes
That on Saturday last the Wife of the said John was sent for
in great Hasle to go down to Oxford to him an Account of such
his Illness And that Yesterday he this Deponent received Account
from Oxford that the said John still Continued very Ill and
unable to Come to London which Account this Deponent believes
to be true. And this Deponent Mary Brooke< no role > for herself
Saith That in her Journey hither to Attend the Tryall in this
Cause she Coming thro' Oxford went to see the said John Uncle
there who this Deponent found in Bed and in this Deponents
Judgment very Ill And this Deponent further Saith that she wasInformed
then Informed at Oxford aforesaid by the Apothecary Attending the
said John Uncle there that the said John had for several Day been
Ill and that the said John was Blistered and was then in a Feaver
and by reason thereof he Could not with Safety of his Life at present
be removed so as to Come to London which Information this
Deponent believes to be true
