And that the said Committee were of Opinion that it would do Honour
to this Court to interpose and put a Stop to a practice so Injurious to the
Liberty and properly of the industrious poor and contrary to Law
This Court doth agree to the said Report and doth ratify and confirm
the same and the same is hereby ratified and confirmed accordingly
And it is further Ordered by this Court that James Waller< no role > Esqr-
Clerk of the peace of this County do write a Letter to the said
Mr. St. Lawrence to desire him to dine with the Justices of
the peace of this County on the County day of the next Session
and that the Cause of Complaint against the said Mr. St.
Lawrence be inserted in the said Letter.

It is ordered by this Court And it is hereby recommended and referred

Charles Palmer< no role > Esquires his Majestys Justices of the peace of this
County and such other Justices of the peace of the said County as
will be pleased to be present or any three or more of them as a
Committee to meet together at Hicks Hall in Saint John Street in the Said County on
Tuesday the Twenty ninth Day of May next at nine of the Clock
in the Forenoon to inspect and Audit the Accounts of Mr John Higgs< no role >
touching the Moneys received by him as Treasurer of this County
and of his Disbursements out of the same and also to inspect his
Account of what Sum and Sums of Money he hath received of and
of whom for the Rents of the Estate belonging to this County and how the
same or any part thereof hath been applied and disposed of

this County concerning the Account of Mr. John Higgs< no role > Treasurer
of the said County of the moneys by him received upon or Rate and
assessment in June last upon the Respective Parishes and places
in this County by Virtue of the Act of Parliament made for the more
easy assessing collecting and levying of County Rates It appeareth to
