By Adjournment on Thursday the First Day of March 1759
To Appoint Commee for Enquire
and consider the Inconvenceing
of Comittg. to the Gatehouse
for offences in the County.
It being represented to this Court that of late divers
persons have been committed by the Justices of the peace
for this County to the prison of the Gatehouse at Westminster
being the Common
Prison for the City and Liberty of
Westminster
and not for the said County of Midex for
offences done and charged to have been done in the said
County (as well Felonys as Misdeamenors) and for
Which such persons ought by Law to have been committed
to one of the prisons of the said County By which
practice Sundry Inconveniences have arisen to the
Manifest Delay of Justices and also the persons so
committed have been oppressed by the payment of
greater Fees taken at the Gatehouse than are payable
at the prisons of the said County Therefore for preventing
such Inconveniences and Oppressions for the future It is
Ordered by this Court that it be and is here by recommended
and referred to

General Quarter Session of the peace to be holden for
this County on the County Day of the same Session
