The further Examination of William Harper< no role > This name instance is in set 3509. taken before
us two of his Majestys Justices of the Peace for the City of London
and the Liberties thereof this fourth,Day of
December 1744.

Who on his further Examination on Oath saith That his former Examination
being so sudden after he was taken into Custody he cou'd not then particularly
remember all the several Robberies he had been concerned in and with whom
he was concerned and in particular in his said Examination he gave an
Account of two Robberies, to wit, one committed near Devenshire Square
in Bishopsgate Street and the other near the Exchange in Threadneedle
Street on a Saturday Night about five Weeks from the Time of the taking
his said Examination when the said Robberies were committed on a Friday
Night and instead of Thomas Giles< no role > therein mentioned in his said Examination to
be concerned in the said two Rebberies it was one Long Will that was
concerned with them in the said two Robberies and as far as he can
recollect it was about the latter End of September last the said two
Robberies were committed and this Examinant further saith that he
with Gadd, Jack< no role > the Sailor , Field, Billingly< no role > , Wells, Morris< no role > , Normanand
Bannister mentioned in his former Examination together with the said Long
Will, stopt a Gentleman the abovementioned Friday Night in Ayliffe Street
Goodmanfields whilst the said Jack the Sailor picked his Pocket
of a Silver Watch, This Examinant further saith That the abovesaid
Saturday Night which is now about nine Weeks ago, he this Examinant
together with Field, Norman, Thomas Giles< no role > , Gadd, Bannister, Billingsly
Morris and Wells met a Footman at the End of Charter House Lane who
had a Pot in his Hand whom they encompassed while the said Gadd picked
his Pocket of a Silver Watch and this Examinant believes the same was
taken so dextrously that the said Footman had no Notion that his Pocket
was picked That the same Night in a Street near Bloomsbury Square
they, attached a Gentleman and robbed him of a Silver Watch which was
taken by Jack the Sailor, the Gentleman made some Resistance whereon they
drew their Hangers and run away but he this Examinant heard the
Gentleman several Time cry out they have got my Watch This
Examinant further saith that about three Months ago he with Billingly
Morris, Jack< no role > the Sailor and Henry Gadd< no role > This name instance is in set 3513. aforesaid together with one
County Dick< no role >
