Vacancy Declared


At this Court the Vacancy of a Barber of Bethlem by the Death of
John Green< no role > was Declared and the Election of another was Ordered to come
on the next Court

The Petitions of the Candidates for the Porters Mans Place in this
Hospital in the Room of James Lepingwell< no role > made one of the Beadles
being Read in Alphabetical Order Vizt. John Adkins< no role > Robert Jervis< no role >
and Thomas Purrett< no role > , the governors gave their Ballots which being Cast
up the Numbers appeared to be as follows

Whereupon the Rt. Worshipfull the President declared the said Thos. Purrett< no role > duly
Elected Porters Man of the said Hospital till the next Election Day And upon
his Producing a Certificate of his Settlement he the said Thomas Purrett< no role > be
Admitted Perters Man of the said Hospital until the next Election Day And that
he have such Appartment as the Committee of this House shall think fit

Gratuities to Beadles
& Porter Man £5 each


Upon Reading the Humble Petition of the Four Beadles and Porters
Man of this Hospital for their Gratuities of Five Pounds such for the
Half Year Ending Christmas last for their Salaries are but Small
It is Ordered that the Clerk do give and pay unto them £5 a Piece
to be allowed him in his next Account
