the Bridge Committee


Upon Reading a Report from the House Committee under
the Hands of William Kinleside< no role > Esqr . treasurer Francis Gulston< no role > & Saml.
Seawell
< no role > Esquires Mr. Charles Hoyle< no role > and Mr. Richd. Crowther< no role > in the Words
and Figures following Vizt. At a Committee Friday the 22d. June 1770
In Pursuance of an Orderof an Orderof Court of the 27th. day of July 1768
Whereby it is Ordered that this Committee should be at Liberty and were
thereby Impowered to Treat with the Worshipful the Committee for Building
A Bridge from Black Friars in the City of London to the Opposite Shore
in the County of Surry Upon the Order made by the Bridge Committee
bearing date the 3d day of May 1768 and the proposal therein mentd.
and the several other Matters in the said Order of Court mentioned and
to Certify to the Court the Result of the Proceedings of this Committee
with our Opinion thereon Whereupon such further Order should be made
as should be Just We Certify that this Committee having met and
Conferred with the Worshipful the Bridge Committee touching their said
Proposal and having with them taken a View of the several Buildings
Lands Dock and Premises therein mentioned And it appearing that
there were many Doubts and Difficulties as to the legal Right & Property
in different parts of the said Premises and that the Decision or
Determination thereof in an Adverse manner would be attended with
great Expence and Inconvenience to the said City and Hospital It
was Proposed and agreed by and between the said Committees That
to Avoid Disputes and Law Suits it should be referred to John Paterson< no role >
