in the County of Surrey
on the third
day of January
in the thirty first Year of the Reign of our Sovereign Lord George the third
by the Grace of God of Great Britain France and Ireland King defender of the Faith and
So forth before

good and lawful Men of the Borough
of Southwark
aforesaid who being now here duly
chosen sworn and charged to enquire for our said Lord the King when how and in what
manner the said man whose name is unknown came to his death say upon there
Oath that the said Man whose name is unknown not being of sound mind memory
and understanding but lunatic and distracted on the thirty first day of December in
the Year aforesaid one end of a certain hankerchief of the value of one penny unto and
about a certain Iron bar belonging to a
certainWindow of a certain Room called
the Cage belonging to the
[..] house of the parish of Saint Olave within the Borough
aforesaid in the County aforesaid and the other end of the said Hankerchief unto and about
his own neck then and there did fix tie and fasten by means whereof the said Man
whose name is Unknown did then and there hang strangle and suffocate himself
of which said hanging strangling and suffocation the said Man whose name is
Unknown did then and there die So the Jurors aforesaid upon their Oath aforesaid do
say that the said man whose name is unknown not being of sound mind memory
and understanding but lunatic and distracted in manner and by the means
aforesaid did hang and kill himself In Witness whereof as well the said Coroner
as An equit
