Examination TextElizabeth Farrell aged 42 years and upwards now in the workhouse of and in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields passed from the Parish St. Paul Covent Garden upon her oath saith that she is the widow of John Farrell (who died in May 1762) whom she was married at the Fleet the 19th day July 1747, that her said husband while single and unmarried was a yearly hired servant to Mr Rice, a Fruiterer in Salisbury Street in the said Parish of St Martin in the Fields for the space of six years at the yearly wages of 16 pounds diet and lodging, and then intermarried with this Examinant, that her said husband never kept house rented a tenement of 10 pounds by the year nor paid any parish taxes, nor hath she this Examinant since the death of her said husband, that she hath one child living by her said husband to wit Andrew aged eight years now with this Examinant. Sworn the 19th Day of January 1765 before Benjamin Cox.
