| Examination Text | Hannah Chaffey aged 76 years in the workhouse of and in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields passed from the Parish of St. Paul Covent Garden upon her oath saith that she never was married, that she was a yearly hired servant to Mr Torr a Surgeon in Oxendon Street in the said Parish of St Martin in the Fields for the space of seven years at the yearly wages of 5 pounds diet and lodging, quitted the same about 16 years ago, that she never kept house rented a tenement of 10 pounds by the year paid any parish taxes nor hath been a yearly hired servant in any one place for 12 months together since. Taken in the workhouse the 10th day of January 1765. |
