Examination TextThe Examination of Sarah Morris lodging at the sign of the Pine Apple in that part of Castle Street which is in the Parish St Martin in the Fields within the liberty aforesaid taken this eighth day of March in the year of our Lord 1780. This Examinant on her oath saith that she is 21 years of age and upwards, that she never was married, that she was on the 17th Day of January last delivered at the house of Mr Atwood at the sign of the Pine Apple in that part of Castle Street which is in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields aforesaid of a female bastard child (since christened Ann) yet living and is become chargeable to the said Parish of St Martin in the Fields, and that Michael Dobney a Musician in the Northampton Militia now lying in Aylesbury in the County of Buckingham had carnal knowledge of her body some time in the month of May last on a bed in a house in the Strand (but the particular part she cannot tell) at which time he the said Michael Dobney did beget on her body the said female bastard child, and that he the said Michael.Dobney is the true and only father thereof and no man else. Sworn the eighth day of March 1780 before Thomas Bullard, William Hyde.
