Examination TextThe Examination of Ann Jenkins now servant to Mr Greensill a Silver Smith opposite Round Court in the Strand in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields taken this 21st Day of December in the year of our Lord 1779. This Examinant on her oath saith she is about 24 years of age, that she never was married nor bound an apprentice, that she was a yearly hired servant to Mrs Lloyd in Villers Street in the Parish aforesaid for the space of two years and upwards all at one time at the yearly wages of 7 pounds diet and lodging, quitted the same about 15 months ago, that she hath not kept house rented a tenement of 10 pounds by the year paid any parish taxes nor been a yearly hired servant in any one place for 12 months together since, and this Examinant on her oath further saith that she was on the 13th Day of January in the year 1777 delivered at the house of Mr Huggins in Half Moon Court in Stanhope Street in the Parish of St Clement Danes within the liberty of Westminster in the County of Middlesex of a Male bastard child (since christened John) yet living and is become chargeable to the said Parish of St Martin in the Fields, and the Revd. Mr Thomas Lloyd in Crown Street Westminster did beget on her body the said Male bastard child, and that he the said Thomas Lloyd is the true and only father thereof and no man else.
