Examination TextWilliam King aged 70 years lodging at No. 16 in Charles Court in the Strand in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields upon his oath saith that he is a Carpenter by trade and lived in and rented an house in Durham Yard in the Parish aforesaid (known by the sign of the Crooked Billet) for the space of nine months at the yearly rent of 10 pounds besides taxes, quitted the same about 10 years ago, that he hath not kept house rented tenement of 10 pounds by the year nor paid any parish taxes since, that he was married to he is late wife Mary at the Parish Church of Burford in Oxford about 47 years ago by whom he hath one daughter to wit Judy aged about 40. Sworn the 7th May 1777 before Thomas Bullard.
