This Indenture Wittnesseth That John Francis< no role > Lancelott Copleston< no role > Churchwardens
Hugh Mills< no role > Francis Morlye< no role > Edward Grisdell< no role > & Wm. Lawrence< no role > Overseeres of the
poore of the parish of St. Clement Danes in ye County of Middx with thassent
of John Phellipps< no role > & Peter Lugg< no role > Esqrs . Justices of ye Peace for ye County of Middx
and Citty and Liberty of Westmr. according to a Statute in that Case made and
provided Have put Margaret Jones< no role > daughter of Jones decd an
Apprentice to Eliz Muson and wth her after the manner of an Apprentice
to dwell and serve from the day of the date here of unto the full end and
terme of Nine yeares from thence next ensueing and fully to be compleate and
Ended Dureing all wth said terme wee the Churchwardens and Overseers of the
poore with thassent aforesaid Doe Order and appoint that the said Margarett
Jones well and faithfully shall serve, her secretts keepe her Commandmts
lawfull and honest every where shall glady doe hurt to her said Mrs. she
shall not doe or consent to be done of others but shall prevent it if she
may or else from time to time admonish her there of the goods of her said
Mrs. she shall not wast nor them to any body lend without her consent
neither from her service by or night shall not absent her selfe but in all
Hungs as a good and faithfull servant ought to doe shall be have herselfe
towards her said Mrs. and all hers dureing the said terme of Nine yeares
Taverns or Alehouses she shall not frequent (except it be about her Mrs.
bussinesse there to be done) At Cards Dice or any other unlawfull
games she shall not play whereby her Mrs. may receive any prejudice
Fornication she shall not committ Matrimony dureing the said terme
she shall not contract And the said Eliz Muson shall teach and
instruct or cause to be taught and instructed her said Apprentice
in the trade of a sempstresse which she now useth according to her
best skill and Knowledge And the said Elizabeth Muson< no role > shall give &
find to her said Apprentice Sufficient meate Drinke washing Lodging
Apparrell Linnen and all other necessarys meete & convenient for
such an Apprentice dureing the said terme And for true Pformance
of all the said Articles in forme aforesaid to be Kept the sd Pties bind
themselves each to other by these pesents In Wittnesse whereof the sd
Parties to these present Indentures interchangeably have sett theire
hands and seal et this 10 day of September in the 4th Yeare of the raigue
of or Soveraigne Lord James ye 2d. over England & King Annoqr Dui 1688
