Mr. Richardson.
Mr. Cornwall.
Mr. Rainforth
and other Inhabitants
Mr. Wingrove read a Letter or Note from Mr.
Chessall one the Candidates for Vestry Clerk
(in these Words following) "Mr: Chessall
"presents his Compliments to Mr. Wingrove, has
"to acquaint him that he does not intend to give
"him or the Parishioners in General any further
"Trouble in respect to the Election of a Vestry
"Clerk of this Parish. Mr. Wingrove is therefore
"at Liberty to close the Poll as soon as he pleased
"Serle Street fryday Eveng. 8th. Octo:1784.
The Poll was accordingly closed.
Mr. Wingrove cast up the Poll Books and it
appeared that the Numbers were for Mr. Chessall
233. For Mr. Jennings 544. That therefore
there was a Majority for the said Mr. Jennings
of 311 Votes. Mr. Wingrove thereupon declare [..]
Mr. Jennings duly elected Vestry Clerk.
