Mr. Combe the late Vestry Clerk having resigned
his Office Mr. Moses Wingrove< no role > the Senior Church
Warden declared the said Office vacant, and Mr:
Matthew Chessall< no role > and Mr. Richard Whitehouse Jennings< no role >
having then preferred their several
Petitions to be elected to the said Office of Vestry
Clerk of this Parish for the Year ensuing, and
the said Petitions having been publickly read;
Mr. Wingrove proceeded to the Election by
holding up of Hands, and the Question being
put on behalf of each of the Candidates Mr.
Wingrove declared that the Majority of Hands
was in favour of Mr. Jennings. But Mr. John
Allen
< no role > , seconded by Mr. Joseph Marshall< no role > on
Behalf of Mr. Chessall, severally demanding a
Poll; Mr. Wingrove declared, and it was
accordingly ordered, that such Poll should come
on in the Vestry Room that Day at two o'clock
and to end at four, On Fryday next the Eighth
day of this Instant October at nine o'clock in
the forenoon, and end at three in the Afternoon,
and be continued on Saturday and Monday
following, the ninth and eleventh Instant from
nine o'Clock in the Morning, to three of the
Clock in the Afternoon on each Day, and that
the Poll should finally close at three of the
Clock on Monday the Eleventh Instant.
