All the above Articles have been
minutely and laboriously investigated by the
Committee who now submit the Result to the
Vestry-in full Confidence that they will take
such Steps as to prevent as much as
possible all future Impositions on the Officers
by giving them all necessary Regulations for
their Conduct in the management of that
House & likewise to Present all Waste and
Extravagance therein for which Purpose your
Committee are Compiling certain Observations
& Regulations which with all deference they intend
to Submit to your Consideration
The committee by leave to State that they
have recommended some material Alterations in the
Washhouse part of which have been accomplished at
a small Expence & which they trust will cause a
considerable Diminution in the Article of Coals-that
they have made a Survey through all the lower
Apartments of the House where the material Expence
in Fuel arises-that they have visisted the Workhouses
of Mary be bone-St. George Hanover Square
-St. Giles
in the
fields-St. Andrew Holborn
-Kensington,
& other Parishes
in order to Collect Information & also the Foundling &
Christ Hospital
That they do recommend to the Vestry to Order
the immediate sale of the Articles belonging to the
Bravery-as also the Copper lately Pulled down in the
Washhouse
which was esteemed unnecessary not having
been used for upwards of Four months
