They never have Butter or Cheese
Beer only on Meat days. then the Can is held
While they drink.

That they fetch Water from the Dyke to drink.

That their food did not satisfy them they had not enough
That she had one gown in Seven years. That 7 Score & 9 Children at the Milk
That they went to Chapel if fine if not no Prayers at home. That they did
not read on a Sunday. That the Children were not Ragged. wore blue
Striped Gowns and blue Skirts. That about 20 Children buried while she
there some with the Waste. ie Decline.

That there were 3 Maids to make Beds & mend Cloaths. That they
had Clean Sheets every 3 Weeks. Body Linnen once a week. 40 lay'd in
Room. 3 in a Bed had flocks beds Hair beds & Thread Beds. Boys & Girls
laid in different Rooms. That their Holidays were as day at Xmas. a Penny
at the Summer fair each and a Penny each at the Winter fair. That the
breakfasted in the Mill Worked & Eat. had an Hour at Dinner. No time
at 4 OClock but Eat their Roll & Worked, That the Mistress paid them
the Overwork. That she saved Money to buy Cloaths & had 23 Shillings
when she came away. That a Number Ran awayThat when
out of their Time the Women earned 4s. P week (Work 12 Hours).

That one Man earned 8s. P week after out of his time. That they
are Strapped for not Working & Allowances taken away That [..]
Some were beat much not disabled That a Doctor Attended when
Sick-not after Sick-That the Flue of the Cotton made them Sick

Resolved that no more Children be sent to the Cotton
Mills till a Vestry give directions concerning them
