At a meeting of the Committee for Paving Elected and appointed
pursuant to an Act of Parliament in the Vestry Room of Saint Clement
Davies the 1st. October 1773

Proposed and Agreed that Mr. Burnthwaite take the Chair.
The Minutes of the last meeting read and confirmed.
The Committee signed a Certificate of Interest on Monies borrowed on the Credit
of the Additional Paving Rate at Michas last Principal £4800.-Interest £110:0s:8d
which Sum it is Ordered be paid into the Bank to the Account of the Commrs: for
Paving Westminster
Etc. for which purpose Mr. Kennett & Mr Ireland be desired to drais
on the Banker.
The Committee signed a Duplicate of the Rate or Assessment of One Shilling
in the Pound by them made on the 13th. day of June last for the purpose of Repair
Cleansing
and Lighting several Squares Streets Lanes Etc. in this Parish Also a
Duplicate of an Additional Rate of Sixpence in the Pound by this Committee middle
on the same day on Streets Etc. already Paved in this Parish Also a Duplicate of
another Rate of Sixpence for every Square yard of Pavement belonging to Church
by this Committee made on the same 13th. day of June and Appointed Mr John George< no role >
to Collect the said several Rates.
Dr. Fordyce of Essex Street attending this Committee and complaining that
a Lamp is wanting at his Door, there being no Lamp nearer his House than 30 Pa [..]
Ordered that Mr. Dewsbery and Mr. Carpue inspect the same and report to the
Committee at the next Meeting.
Mr. Nixon Inspector to this Committee Returns that a Lamp is waitg
at the bottom of Little Shire Lane
Ordered that the above named Gentleman Tun [..]
the same and Report at the next meeting.
