Saint Clement Danes

Middlesex

to wit Elizabeth Griffiths< no role > aged about 26
years upon her Oath saith that she never was
married that she lived as a hired yearly servant
with one Mr. Wilks in Butcher Row in the
Parish of Saint Clement Danes in the County
of Middlesex for Three years and upwards at
the yearly Wages of £5 that she hath quitted
said service about Thirteen years ago she
Intermarried with
since which time she hath not
lived as a hired yearly servant for one year or done
any Act to gain a subsequent settlement And further
this Examinant upon her Oath saith that on the
20th. day of March last past she was delivered of a
female Bastard Child (which hath since been Christened
by the Name of Barbara< no role > ) in the Workhouse
belonging to the said Parish That one John Birkett< no role >
a Flax Dresser who did live in George Alley Fleet
Markett but is at Present in Clerkenwell
Bridewell is the only real and true father
thereof he having had carnal knowledge of this
Examinants Body and begotten the same thereon and
that the said John Birkett< no role > is the only real and true
father thereof
