to wit Jane Swaine< no role > aged about 25 years
upon her Oath saith that [..] she this Examinant
lived as a hired yearly Servant with one
Mr. Carey an Optician in the Strand for the space
of Two years at the yearly wages of Eight Guineas
that She hath quitted said Service about Two years
and four Months since which time she hath
not lived as a hired yearly Servant for Twelve
Months or done any Act Matter or thing
whereby she might have gained a subsequent
Settlement And further upon her Voluntary Oath saith that she is now pregnant with
Child or Children which is or are likely to be born a Bastard or Bastards & to become Chargeable to the said parish That one John Rowe< no role > who did lodge
at No. 5 Craven Buildings by Trade a
Journeyman Carpenter and who now works
at the new buildings the bottom of Fleet
Street is the father thereof he having had carnal
knowledge of this Examinants Body and
begotten the said Child or Children of which
She is now pregnant and that the said John
Rowe
< no role > is the only Real and true father
thereof
